Google Analytics and Optimize
Google Analytics
Description of Service
We use the web analysis service Google Analytics to collect usage data from our websites. This enables us to compile reports on website activity and thus to improve the website.
Furthermore, we use Google Analytics to process additional information from users, provided they are registered with Google and have consented to the processing of their data for personalized advertising. In these cases, the usage activities on our website are assigned to the Google account, possibly including location, search history and YouTube history. If applicable, cross device tracking might also take place. We receive so-called insights, i.e. aggregated demographic information about our website visitors.
We also process the data collected by Google Analytics for (re-) marketing purposes and transmit corresponding lists (so-called audiences) to other companies in the E.ON Group, as well as to Google and its advertising network. Last but not least, we also use Google Analytics to measure the success of our advertising campaigns and to be able to optimize them through Google conversion tracking. Cross-domain tracking within the E.ON Group may also be used to measure the success of advertising measures that cover the websites of several companies in the E.ON Group.
We also use the data collected by Google Analytics in the Google Optimize tool. This is done to improve usability through the use of A/B tests and to personalize the website. Google Optimize allows you to test different versions of a website and how the user reacts to those different versions. For example, we can test where certain information is most attractive on the website.
In addition, we share anonymized data from Google Analytics with Google for benchmarking purposes.

The product sovereignty and product design of the social media portal lies with the respective social media portal operator. We have no influence on the data collected and processed by the operator, nor are we aware of the full scope of data collection, the purposes of processing or the storage periods. Only in individual cases in which the social media portals process personal data on the basis of our instructions, they act as processors under our responsibility as controllers.
For our Facebook fan page, we have concluded a joint control agreement in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR with Facebook Ireland Ltd. At this, it is agreed (https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum) that Facebook is responsible for providing you with information about the processing of page insights (https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/information_about_page_insights_data) and enable you to exercise your rights as a data subject according to the GDPR. You can find out more about these rights in your Facebook settings.
We would like to point out that the processing of personal data in countries outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, especially in the USA, cannot be ruled out. Under certain circumstances, this can be associated with the risk of more difficult legal enforcement, which represents a risk for the individual user.
